I booked this trip as a solo trip for my 40th birthday and I couldn't be happier that I did. The experience was seamless from start to finish and the culture discovery team was there to guide me the entire way. From the time I was picked up at the train station and given a tour of my apartment I knew that I was in good hands. We were a smaller group, which I think made it easier for me as a solo traveler, but honestly, I never felt like I was on my own and by the end of the week we were all family. Mimmo was a great guide who was knowledgeable about the area, had great fun facts and really took time to get to know the people in the group individually. We were lucky enough to have Maggie and Marica along for the ride on some days and they were great additions to the group. Sergio was there to make sure that we got everywhere that we needed to be, and I wouldn't have wanted anyone else driving through those winding roads. The experiences and daily adventures are top notch, and you can tell that everything is thought out and well planned. It's amazing getting to see the different parts of Tuscany but through the guise of seeing it as a friend through relationships that have been built on genuine appreciation for what the vendor does, whether it's wine, or olive oil, or pottery. The cooking classes with Carla and the girls at the villa are a treat like no other! It's a fun environment where everyone no matter what culinary level is welcomed and will leave feeling like a top chef. On a personal note, culture discovery made this birthday like no other. I was spoiled the entire day through, and I wouldn't have wanted to spend it anywhere else. If you're hesitate about booking a tour with culture discovery, don't be. The only thing you'll regret is not having booked it sooner!
